Amping up

Awesome blog about ampersands. Spot them in the wild! Found via Typophile.

Not quite as cool as if it were a pilcrow blog, but still. (Actually there's a pilcrow stream on flickr.)

I heartily encourage this trend

Following in the line of "not a plastic cup" and the even better coffee cup coin purse, another backflip product.

Found at cut+paste, which has a lot of fun stuff sort of in the Fred Flare vein.

Upper(nut)case

Yes, well, of course I like this. I liked it the moment I saw the cover. Then I liked it when I read the copy on their website, below the photo (text that - almost troublingly - seems to be written as if it were targeted at me, which probably means I am supremely unoriginal. Or it's my Canadian genes.).

I didn't have to see the kind of things they like to know...well...I'd like them, too. But look at them anyway. And they have some pretty books, including one with a great theme - art by artists all named Jennifer. I love a good gimmick.

Snap Zip

I got this camera case at H&M today. Of course I'm taking this photo with a camera that won't fit in that tiny bag, but I love it anyway.

Labels I Like: Tchoklit

So TCHO is coming to (my) town. I really like the choc packaging. (Not that I'd eat citrus nibs - keep that fruit out of my chocolate!)

Labels I Like: Or, What I Got at Target - Part II

This is probably not very good coffee. But I had to buy it, just for the tin. Only I liked the color scheme of the decaf, which you can see - blurrily - on my stove. Sideways.

Labels I Like: Or, What I Got at Target - Part I

So I went to Target today to get something boring and I bought a couple things just because of the way they looked. One was this stuff - J.R. Watkins.

I've pretty much always been a Meyers person, but I really like the labels.

Lobster quadrille

I was in a local store today, buying a Mother's Day present. It's the kind of store that has Coelacanth and BlueQ type stuff, plus like slinkys and Zutano. You know.

Anyway, I spotted some bags by a company called Bungalow360. New to me. They looked pretty nice, sturdily constructed and with some good prints. There was a lobster that took my fancy. Also, they are greenies and love cats!

Rad Fenwick

Remember Ray Fenwick? I keep talking and (talking and talking and talking) about him because he's fantastic and in thirty years I'm going to be boring people at his retrospective at sfmoma by telling them that I always knew his was a genius, always knew it!

Well, I admit I'm not the only one who knows. Tiny Showcase does too, and they've restocked a shirt they carry with a great Ray Fenwick design.

And don't forget to sign up for the regular Tiny Showcase stuff - it's a brilliant idea and has a devoted following that's totally warranted.

And on to the V-Shirts

More Veer goody-goodness.

I love this - birds *and* lorem ipsum!

This is also pretty fantastic. We should all have our own couches with us.

Concept=great. However, there's something about where the hem/baseline actually hits on this gal that is a little bit...problematic.

TYGR

Watch out, this is a covetable freak-out edition. You know how I get when I really like something...

Via Pilcrow Pabulum - and no, it's not my blog - the too fantastic merchandise section of Veer.

I pretty much love every damn thing in the clothes section. Also, the product descriptions make me laugh.

Petite front pockets thwart the urge to stash bulky objects at your midsection but still give your hands a cozy refuge.

(And yes, they do tell you what typeface is used on the clothes.)
