Striking

I've always loved matchbooks. I'm really sorry restaurants don't offer them anymore, even though I know it's the smoking thing. But they're so much fun to collect, which is why I want:

this book

and

this book.

(Sorry about the crappy Amazon pictures.)

Upper(nut)case

Yes, well, of course I like this. I liked it the moment I saw the cover. Then I liked it when I read the copy on their website, below the photo (text that - almost troublingly - seems to be written as if it were targeted at me, which probably means I am supremely unoriginal. Or it's my Canadian genes.).

I didn't have to see the kind of things they like to know...well...I'd like them, too. But look at them anyway. And they have some pretty books, including one with a great theme - art by artists all named Jennifer. I love a good gimmick.

Book for sale = must buy

I seriously covet this book: For Sale: 200 Innovative Packaging Designs

I saw it in a bookstore but didn't really have time to stop and check it out enough. But just the cover is enough to show me it's a keeper.

Here's an interview with the author, John Foster.

I vote for text

Okay, they had me hooked from the name: The Regional Assembly of Text. I already want to live in this store.

Plus the site graphic looks like a file folder and the T-shirts are perfect-absurd.

You never know when you might need to count recessing trees! I saw this on io9 and had to immediately go stare at it. But there's no girly medium.

I also love this.

The store is in Vancouver. That's not even that far away, really...

In all its shapes and forms and glory

I just covet everything Taschen. I mean...Chairs. I love this.

Plus, they're funny: "The ubiquitous chair—you're probably sitting in one right now, have a look—in all its shapes and forms and glory."

This is a "best of" from 1000 Chairs. Smaller, so you can have it handy, you know.
