Labels I Like: Tchoklit

So TCHO is coming to (my) town. I really like the choc packaging. (Not that I'd eat citrus nibs - keep that fruit out of my chocolate!)

Labels I Like: Or, What I Got at Target - Part II

This is probably not very good coffee. But I had to buy it, just for the tin. Only I liked the color scheme of the decaf, which you can see - blurrily - on my stove. Sideways.

Labels I Like: Or, What I Got at Target - Part I

So I went to Target today to get something boring and I bought a couple things just because of the way they looked. One was this stuff - J.R. Watkins.

I've pretty much always been a Meyers person, but I really like the labels.

Book for sale = must buy

I seriously covet this book: For Sale: 200 Innovative Packaging Designs

I saw it in a bookstore but didn't really have time to stop and check it out enough. But just the cover is enough to show me it's a keeper.

Here's an interview with the author, John Foster.

Six glasses a day

I can't remember if they found me or I found them, but another company -- small, this time -- is jumping on the wagon of nice water bottles.

Earthlust is a small company that makes these stainless steel bottles -- I asked the owner (a mother, yay) what made her bottles different and she said Siggs are aluminum and that everyone should have a bottle that they like and think is nice looking, and that's such in line with the philosophy of this blog...

Drink

OK, so the popularity of Sigg bottles and other such has finally penetrated to the mainstream.

I didn't take a photo at the store, and now I'm sorry because I can't find them online, but Old Navy was totally selling a Sigg-style water bottle in some stripy colors.

And then I just got an LL Bean catalog and saw this.

And it's even called "Bean Canteen" so you know where they're getting their inspiration. Or maybe their actual product -- which I would prefer.

Bozo

I really like to drink wine, but I am not in any way an expert. And, of course, I really pick wine by the label. (I mean, come on, admit it...you do too.)

Anyway, I love this label for Beauzeaux (ha). It looks like an old New Yorker cartoon.

Haven't tasted the wine, though.

Tricked out

I am not really a make-up person. I'm just too lazy, really. But every once in a while I buy some on a whim.

The other day I wandered into BeneFit, which I'd always liked the look of, window shopping. I was impressed with the product, but of course I was much more interested in the packaging.

And then I thought of this other stuff I saw at Target, called Soap and Glory. Sort of going for the same thing. I think it's the low-end brand of somebody else...(I could find this out in about two seconds with Google but I'm going to stay ignorant for a while.)

Commenter kmsqrd mentioned laptop stickers, or skins, as an alternative to the funka-dells...and I think I may have even blogged these a while ago but they've expanded their inventory like crazy, and they're great. I'm getting one as soon as I get a new laptop.

Better than 66

I love the packaging on Route 29 candy. And a lot of it comes in tins, I think.

(To be honest, I wouldn't actually eat the stuff in the below box, it sounds too weird, but isn't the look just great? However, the peanut butter sticks sound delicious...)

Logos I like

The real point of this paint is that it's not awful and carcinogenic, but I'm really blogging it for the label. Please don't ask for depth at this blog!

Mix it up

I get a lot of e-mails about promotions and sales. Often I just delete them, but I always get excited when the mail comes from Mahar Dry Goods. They just have so many covetable things.

For instance, this, by Zeichen Press, is just fantastic. It's a ridiculously cute CD case you can use when you want to give a homemade CD as a gift. Because, you know, how embarrassing is it to give a boring old plain CD.

On/Off

So I was sent some samples of the new energy drink called G by the VOSS water people. I love the bottle -- glass, yay -- and it has a great feel, but oh! The cap! Horrible silver plastic. Metal is too expensive, of course, but this plastic feels so cheap and is so fakely attempting to be metal that it is awful. They want to be upscale but they missed it with the cap.

I haven't drunk it yet. I think I will make someone else in this household try it first. (Not the kid.)

One thing I nerdily love is that the G looks like a computer's on/off button.

However, the first thing I thought when I saw it was: perfume. It's sort of like the gorgeous Kenzo flower bottle.

Hello, my name is...

I have read that this is not such great wine, but I don't care. The label is fantastic. I've also seen Chardonnay. (Thank you, my neighborhood TJs.)

Mrs Clean-up

I love the Mrs Meyer's line of cleaning products. Firstly, the labels are gorgeous. (It's all about text as a design element, folks.) Secondly, they aren't full of scary chemicals. Thirdly, they have real scents, not fake-o.

Show of corridors

OK, I admit that I want the West Wing box set because I like the show. But beyond that, isn't this clever packaging? It's done like a box of dossiers.

Blankety-blanx

I recently (today!) was given a Blanxart chocolate bar as a little giftie. First of all, the choc itself was great, but you know that of course I was wild about the wrapper. They are available in the US, luckily.

(And isn't Catalan great, all those Xs.)

Atchoo!

Look at the round Kleenex! I love it. First of all, I like that the container is round, because it's so not useful but so much more interesting than square or rectangular.

Secondly, the prints are super cute. I haven't seen this in the store yet, though.

8 x 8

I have a lot of fun browsing wine. Yes, I like to drink it, but I'm really into the labels. Take this Cellar No. 8 I got at TJs. That numeral is just so sexy!

All quiet on the western coast

I'm back from a short trip and want to talk about bottles. Bottles and cans. I really like this NaturAqua bottle, as it looks like an old-fashioned water tower.

NaturAqua is a Coke product, and while I was looking for a picture I came across this rather pretty Fresca can. I don't think Fresca used to look like this, did it?
