Oh, Tom.

OK, so I got my baby and my kidlet TOMS shoes. They are (a) awesomely cute and (b) good and flexible but, unfortunately, a+b is negated by the fact that in three (3) wears, they look thrashed. And I'm so not a person to care about wear and tear, but this is excessive.

I think it's the purple sparkly fabric; the metallic threads aren't holding up perhaps?

Anyway, sad face.

But cute, no?

Moo-moo

Not sure I'd send for these all the way from Australia but they beat the look of Born Free for sure!

Via Odeedoh (how are you supposed to say that?), which once nicked a photo of mine.

Twitter/winner

Hey, everybody, an Envirosax giveaway!

So, Envirosax we've talked about more than once.

Well, they are sweet enough to do a Covetable giveaway, sort of in time for Father's Day (delay my fault, not theirs). So listen up, dear readers. If you look over to the right, you will see a link to the Covetable twitter. Yeah, I know. But anyway, sign up to follow the blog and I'll put you in the running to pick one bag of your choice from either the retro graphic series or the oxford series.

My favorite retro is this.

And my favorite oxford is this.

But no pressure.

I heartily encourage this trend

Following in the line of "not a plastic cup" and the even better coffee cup coin purse, another backflip product.

Found at cut+paste, which has a lot of fun stuff sort of in the Fred Flare vein.

Labels I Like: Or, What I Got at Target - Part I

So I went to Target today to get something boring and I bought a couple things just because of the way they looked. One was this stuff - J.R. Watkins.

I've pretty much always been a Meyers person, but I really like the labels.

Lobster quadrille

I was in a local store today, buying a Mother's Day present. It's the kind of store that has Coelacanth and BlueQ type stuff, plus like slinkys and Zutano. You know.

Anyway, I spotted some bags by a company called Bungalow360. New to me. They looked pretty nice, sturdily constructed and with some good prints. There was a lobster that took my fancy. Also, they are greenies and love cats!

Crank it up

This little ipod amp is nice to look at, plus you can charge it by crank or solar panel. Probably pretty low quality sound, but it's cute. I love the way crank energy is coming back. We have an ancient, pre-war flashlight that works that way, only it drives the dog crazy.

Eat and go

I saw these at Whole Foods the other day (prior to my daughter devouring what seemed like seventy dollars worth of freeze-dried strawberries).

The cutlery is nice, the oil-cloth wrapper is nice. I'd certainly forget to take them with me after I washed them, but that's just me.

A little drinky

These are a lot nicer than Nalgene, that's for sure! BlueQ, also known as land of fun coin purses. (I have the Ray Fenwick design "Being Rich is Awesome.)

Scout it out

My daughter's wonderful preschool is fund-raising.
Why am I mentioning that? Well, they're doing it in a pretty Covetable way.

Scout is a line of organic kids clothes with great colors. They're offering a coupon code (GRIFFIN) that will get you 30% off, and donating 30% of sales to the school.

I like this colorblock dress a lot.

Orange and blue, pink and brown. What's not to like?

It's on through December 15 and sizes run up to 4T.

Six glasses a day

I can't remember if they found me or I found them, but another company -- small, this time -- is jumping on the wagon of nice water bottles.

Earthlust is a small company that makes these stainless steel bottles -- I asked the owner (a mother, yay) what made her bottles different and she said Siggs are aluminum and that everyone should have a bottle that they like and think is nice looking, and that's such in line with the philosophy of this blog...

Drink

OK, so the popularity of Sigg bottles and other such has finally penetrated to the mainstream.

I didn't take a photo at the store, and now I'm sorry because I can't find them online, but Old Navy was totally selling a Sigg-style water bottle in some stripy colors.

And then I just got an LL Bean catalog and saw this.

And it's even called "Bean Canteen" so you know where they're getting their inspiration. Or maybe their actual product -- which I would prefer.

Sip to sip

Following on the Born Free/Thermos/Klean Kanteen trend of "safe" sippy cups comes this one, which is cute but looks slightly over-engineered (that's so common with kids' stuff -- they think we'll pay more if it looks complicated and rugged?).

Sax of love

Envirosax sent me a love note (no bag included, alas) about their special Valentine's version -- I don't know how romantic these are, but they're cute as hell, and they're useful.

Alpha work station

Knú dropped me a line (so to speak) to mention their new environmentally sound furniture. And of course the reason I'm blogging it is that it looks incredibly lovely. I really need a desk, too...

And they offset their emissions, which is something everyone should know about.

Unfortunately, I can't actually afford any of these sexy pieces. But I can dream, that's what this blog is for.
