This is Radiolab
I am a huge Radiolab fan. I also like great neato prints.
So I am very bummed that I missed out on this sale. (And, Jez Burrows, a whole new set coming next year doesn't really make up for not getting these!)

And if you haven't heard Radiolab yet, get over to there now and download the podcast for Choice. Or Placebo. Or Memory. Or any of them!

Not shower curtains
I keep trying not to like stuff at Urban Outfitters and Anthropologie. There are a million reasons why, many quite obvious, having to do with silliness/price. But really, they do have some good stuff.
What I was looking for was a new shower curtain, but what I saw was this.

And this.

Plastique

The emporium of the reliably covetable known as Veer is selling the Diana plastic camera.

It makes lovely/horrible photos - photoethnography.com says you should tape it up with gaffer's tape!
Veer's selling a remake, but look how pretty the pictures are.

And back up, too
Holy moly, more awesome posters by awesome Amy Martin! At 826 in LA, of course. (I always feel funny writing that, because it's not the address of the LA place, only the SF place...whatever, I'm just trying to edit reality.)
Anyway!
This one is my favorite but they're all awesome. We own three from series one and might need this one, too.

Check out Amy's site - the Tiny Vaudeville posters are great.

Striking
I've always loved matchbooks. I'm really sorry restaurants don't offer them anymore, even though I know it's the smoking thing. But they're so much fun to collect, which is why I want:
this book

and

this book.
(Sorry about the crappy Amazon pictures.)

Leads in performance
Okay, it's a little bit hard to see (and I'm too lazy to tinker with the photo on a Sunday morning) but I loved this. It was set into the floor at what is now a Honda dealer - so it's a little sad, really. But check out the awesome rocket logo. Atomic age!

Area where?
New shop to get all covetable about - Areaware. Check out some of my favorites.
Obviously cool:

There are *so* many decals now, but this is truly different. Plus, you know, type as decoration, love it.

Keys
Love this threadless t-shirt design. It reminds me of a shirt I got someone at Brooklyn Industries - it was a line-drawn image of a computer/accordion/boat.

Put it in my stateroom

Um, hello beautiful luggage (found on angry chicken). I know I should pick the editor series, but it's linen, for god's sake. Can you imagine what would happen to linen luggage! So that above is the aviator series. But all the series are gorgeous. Put me on the QEII already.

Update
That thing about cups? I meant these.

Mushrooms and elephants
So also I was pretty psyched by this new series at IKEA in the kitchen department. It reminds me of my 1970s childhood. Even the colors call it back.
These are place mats. Pretty small.

This is a tray.

There were also glasses, smallish ones, but there's no picture online.

Pedal power
I've posted about tricycles before, but recently I had to actually buy one after my daughter's Radio Flyer with Pushbar (not interesting, nor well made, but cheaper than a Kettler) fell apart for the umpteenth time. She's getting bigger anyway, and we could have gone to a tiny two-wheeler, but she's not a speed demon and we thought she'd be better with a trike still.
We went head to head with these two.

This is a Schwinn. I had a Schwinn when I was a kid, and though I think they've been bought since then, I have a smidge of brand nostalgia.
This is a Giant. (A Li'l Giant, which is a silly name. But whatever. It still says Giant on the deck.)

We went with the Giant (in pink, naturally), because it's a crazy good bike. It's not heavy, for one thing. It goes very speedily on the sidewalk, it looks great, the hardware seems very, very sturdy, and it didn't cost much more than the other. And less than a Kettler, for sure.
We slapped a basket with fake plastic flowers on it and she was good to go.

Crank it up
This little ipod amp is nice to look at, plus you can charge it by crank or solar panel. Probably pretty low quality sound, but it's cute. I love the way crank energy is coming back. We have an ancient, pre-war flashlight that works that way, only it drives the dog crazy.

Fred's mix tape, plus a PSA
There is always something good at Fred Flare -- and that reminds me to go check out their 3D store when I'm next in Brooklyn.
But anyway, I find this very covetable. Shows how old I am!

It would be a good one for the farmers' market, along with my Ray Fenwick one from BlueQ, which I think of as a public service announcement.
